Almost Done With Week 1
I hate change.
Well, that isn’t exactly accurate. I adore change but hate those first days when every cell in my body is screaming at me, “Why woman?! What on earth are you doing to us? Let us be!!”
I ultimately don’t want to be where I am at this time next year… I want to be more well rounded, more advanced in my life. It’s time to suck it up and get things moving regardless of the way I “feel” on any given day.
Week one has been kind of a bust. Nothing epic happened but I did accomplish a few things that have been on my list for way too long.
I got fitted for Invisaligns… finally. I am super psyched about that. My teeth have been shifting for a while but I keep putting it off… and off… and off.
I love a good smile but I also needed to be conscious of cost so I decided to go with Smile Direct after some research. My half sister had used them previously and her grill looks perfect. I am waiting on the 3D modeling thing they send before confirming the order. Fingers crossed that it looks good so I can get this ball rolling. I’ll keep you posted on the progress.
My husband and I had back to back childless events both Friday and Saturday night. Granny came over to save the day and IT WAS THE FIRST TIME SOMEONE OTHER THAN US PUT THE BABES TO BED! We don’t go out much but when we do, we’ve always been home for bedtime. It only took us 2.5 years to get over it… lol. That sounds terrible but it’s the truth. This ultimately means more date nights that don’t end before 7pm.
I also hired a nutritional coach. I’ve been working on my fitness for the last 12ish weeks with a local coach but now my jeans are not fitting as well since my muscles have gotten fuller. It’s time to put some focus on my nutrition so that this fat can go bye-bye. If this doesn’t work, I’ll be looking into other options. ;)
The guy I hired is AMAZING though. I worked with him before on both fitness and diet. I got super lean and really strong… I felt awesome. I figure I can get there faster with a coach – especially THIS coach – so it would be money well spent.
More on this later after I get my plan.
Speaking of, I do need to come up with an actual plan-plan. This pseudo flying by the seat of my pants things won’t get me where I am wanting to go, me thinks. I am considering having a weekly checklist or something. Thoughts?
Here’s what I have for the upcoming week (*Disclaimer… I tend to talk to myself in 3rd person a lot. Just go with it.):
Pick a self-development book and read it. Write a review even if you don’t post it. This will help with reflection and possible implementation.
Start using a damn planner. You spend way too much time trying to remember everything. Outsourcing to a planner is your best bet. Try it.
P.S. you bought one almost 2 months ago you’ve never even opened (yet wasted 3 days of your life researching sites for the perfect planner… dummy.)
Hire someone to do family photos. You mumble under your breath every year when the holiday cards start rolling in with everyone’s cute family pics. Do it. You don’t need to look perfect.
Order holiday cards. You already have the image. Don’t fucking forget another year, a-hole.
Plan a holiday. You’ve picked a place… now buy the tickets, see what’s going down in that town and make some solid plans. This used to be your jam… YOUR JAM… so stop dragging your feet and go get your groove back.
Vote. Be part of the change, woman.
I am open to suggestions so comment below if you have any brilliant ideas.
Here’s to week 2, and a whole lot of November self-care.
xxoo
